Red Thread’s Collaboration teams is looking for an experienced Unified Communications & Collaboration Systems Engineer focused on Microsoft Teams. MICROSOFT TEAMS EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED FOR THIS ROLE.
 

Specific Responsibilities:

This candidate is a thought leader and has a deep technical understanding how Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Teams Rooms (MTR), Microsoft Voice, and Audiocodes are built and supported. The ideal candidate will be able to understand and explain the technical architecture, industry best practices, security/proxy designs, network signal flows, and reporting root cause analysis around Microsoft Teams.

This role will be highly collaborative and responsible for key partnerships with our client’s AV, Telephony, IT, Security, and UCaaS stakeholders. This person will be a key driver in designing and implementing third-party integrations, automations, migrations, and being an escalation for complex Microsoft Teams issues. It's very important for this candidate to have a positive can-do attitude, getting into the technical weeds, tenacity in solving problems, strong team player, and be able to communicate effectively with stakeholders.

Required Education & Experience:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science / Communications or a related field and 5+ years of experience in Microsoft Teams or Skype for Business
  • Intermediate level understanding of Microsoft Teams preferred
  • Previous experience in a customer facing role providing demonstration of technology

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • 5+ years of experience in Microsoft Teams or Skype for Business
  • 3+ years deploying and supporting MTRs or Skype Rooms
  • Strong understanding in telecommunications, E911, SBC
  • Strong understanding of advanced Microsoft 365 Services (Azure, Exchange, etc.)
  • Strong scripting and automation experience in PowerShell
  • Experience in integrating with third-party apps using APIs or connectors
  • Strong knowledge of the UCaaS (MS Teams) and AV industry
  • Proven record in planning, architecting, and deploying Microsoft Teams and MTRs in a large enterprise
  • A deep understanding of the security implications and network dependencies for Microsoft Teams, MTRs, and Azure
  • A conceptual understanding of routing/switching/QoS, proxies, firewalls and their potential impact on voice, video, and web streaming network environments
  • Experience in handling live event support and webcasting for internal-facing and external-facing events
  • Proven record in analyzing, troubleshooting, and creating root cause analysis (RCA) reports with action plans on remediation
  • Strong analytical, interpersonal, facilitation and leadership skills along with effective oral/written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and commitments in an environment that requires multitasking among multiple concurrent projects while also handling interruptions

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MS-700 Certification
  • Power BI and Azure Dashboard
  • CTS, CTS-I, CTS-D Certification
  • Experience with Logitech, Crestron, Poly, Neat
  • Experience deploying Microsoft Teams Rooms, Zoom Rooms, Webex Rooms
  • Experience handling TMS, CUCM, RPRM, Audiocodes
  • Experience with QSC, Biamp
  • Experience using ticketing systems
  • Experience in using webcast platforms such as NDI and Microsoft Teams Live Events
