Red Thread is New England’s premier Steelcase, Inc. dealership and provider of customized audiovisual solutions, integrated office furnishings, interior architectural systems and floor coverings which create exceptional places for working, collaborating and learning. We seek an Audiovisual Design Engineer based out of the Wilmington Massachusetts location. The Engineering group provides pre-sales and post-sales support to sales and the operations department during a project lifecycle. The Engineering group is responsible for the design, engineering, and final functionality as well as quality of the project when commissioned.

The primary job functions are as follows:

• Collaborate with sales team on client needs analysis and presentation of new technologies to clients
• Support sales team with coordinating complex design engagements and project coordination
• Create audiovisual system designs and proposals with focus on customer value and functionality
• Attend on site and remote meetings deemed necessary for the project
• Participate in project kickoff meeting to transition a project over to the assigned Post Sales engineer and Project Manager
• Research new products and technologies for use in innovative and efficient audiovisual designs
• Work with peers in engineering group for inhouse testing and staging of new technologies
• Maintain knowledge of latest products as well as trends in the unified communication industry
• Assist field technicians and AV Lab personnel with required technical assistance
• Provide leadership, mentoring and training to other junior employees within the engineering department.
• Protect confidentiality of information, including client list and company processes and procedures
• Promote continuous quality improvement effort to enhance the services provided to clients and other Red Thread staff by demonstrating positive attitudes and actions through a display of courtesy, congeniality, cooperation, initiatives, sensitivity, and professionalism.

The qualified candidate should possess the following skills and experience:

• Minimum of 4 years’ experience in the audiovisual / unified communication field in a design capacity role
• ICIA accredited CTS certification minimum, CTS-D Preferred
• Familiarity with popular unified communication platforms (MS Teams, Zoom, WebEx etc.)
• Fundamental knowledge of networks and network terminology.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD software
• Strong technical aptitude and logical analysis skills
• Solid interpersonal skills that enhance a team environment
• Ability to problem solve independently with a sense of urgency
• Excellent Computer skills: Word, Excel, Outlook, MS Teams etc.
• Communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing
• Detail oriented and organized, with the ability to multi-task
• Ability to effectively manage multiple projects
• Ability to work within tight timeframes
