Provide expert knowledge and guidance on the selection, specification, and application of architectural products, ensuring alignment with design goals, functionality, budget and client needs. Life-cycle activities include pre-sale strategy, proposal development, value engineering, and overseeing at high level with Red Thread resource teams, the procurement, logistics, project management and installation. Requires interfacing with customers, manufacturers, architects and contractors. Collaborate with Red Thread resources in sales, marketing, design, project management, order management, finance and operations to achieve successful project execution, customer satisfaction and financial targets.
Job Functions:
Pre-Sale-Responsibilities:
- Review RFPs to determine strategic direction and winning approach.
- Evaluate construction documents to understand project scope, schedule, terms/conditions, site conditions and product specifications.
- Collaborate with design firms and end users to determine appropriate product solutions and provide value engineering recommendations.
- Work with Project Management and Operations to map efficient delivery and installation requirements and determine costs.
- Assist sales with technical knowledge and competitive guidance.
- Oversee RFP response leveraging internal resources.
- Participate in customer showroom visits and site reviews.
- Present product offerings to influencer community to position Red Thread’s products
- Advise Sales on current product portfolio and expanding portfolio needs based on evolving market trends and insights.
- Continuously grow professional and technical knowledge attending Red Thread and vendor educational/product workshops, reading professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional organizations.
Logistics Planning and Execution:
- Attend internal, customer and contractor project meetings as may be required.
- Coordinate with Project Manager to formalize delivery and installation schedule prior to order entry.
- Monitor project progress – schedule, budget, manufacturer performance, subcontractor performance. Includes regular site visits.
- Oversee compliance with guidelines, processes and protocols ensuring appropriate management controls.
- Guide Project Manager and Sales in trouble shooting any architectural wall issues that may arise.
- Provide post-installation audit in conjunction with Project Manager ensuring punch list is complete.
- Keep management informed by submitting planning reports and project updates.
- Manage subcontractors and manufacturers including pricing metrics.
Other:
- Champion continuous improvement conducting project reviews to assess performance and share lessons learned.
- Perform special projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
Knowledge and Skills:
- Background in construction and/or architecture required.
- Knowledge of architectural walls preferred but not required.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural, mechanical, and electrical drawings.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Works well in a collaborative team environment.
- Works well under pressure in a multi-task role.
- Self-directed, takes initiative and is resourceful.
- Good problem-solving ability and follow through.
- Detail oriented with strong organizational and documentation skills.

- Ability to travel primarily in the greater Connecticut area. Occasional national travel may be required.
- OSHA 30 certification a plus.
- PC Skills: Microsoft Windows including Word, Excel, PowerPoint experience.
Level of Education/Training/License:
- BA/BS degree preferred.
Experience:
- Five+ years sales, construction, architectural and/or project management experience with measurable success, preferably with business-to-business exposure.
