Description
The Furniture Service Technician is responsible for diagnosing and repairing any existing problems with products and all warranty items. In addition, Service Technicians may be utilized to install smaller product such as keyboards, binder bins and visual boards as determined by the installation scheduling department.

Job Functions:
  • Observe all Red Thread safety policies and procedures.
  • Load, or assist in loading, day’s product and equipment into assigned vehicle.
  • Review trip sheets and service loads for potential problems and ensure necessary tools, parts and equipment are available to compete the day’s calls.
  • Install product, using small hand-held power tools, as part of crew with other Red Thread team members or contractors assigned to project.
  • Assist in overseeing, contractors’ performance.
  • Repair, maintain and replace parts as directed by Service Order and the Customer using small hand-held power tools, determining if part is covered by warranty.
  • Call Schedulers and Sales Teams to advise of any issues or problems as they occur and provide status of each service call immediately after leaving the customer
  • Complete appropriate paperwork including documenting open issues, Service Order notations such as additional parts required and warranty data, punch lists, and receipt of customer signature.
  • Return all required paperwork to the Scheduling Coordinator
  • Ensure company vehicle and equipment (i.e. dolly, hand truck, tools) are tracked and in good condition, notifying Management of any concerns or problems.
  • Performs other duties as required to support the Operations Team.
Qualifications:

Skills & Abilities:
  • Ability to assess problems and provide solutions for resolution.
  • Possess established knowledge of all Red Thread distributed product.
  • Ability to assemble and service various products using necessary hand tools.
  • Ability to read furniture plans and blueprints.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Ability to load and pack company vehicle.
  • Clear and professional communication skills, including written (to accurately complete paperwork), verbal and listening skills.
  • Detail oriented and organized.
  • Ability to prioritize in a multi-task organization.
Level of Education/Training/License:
  • High school diploma/GED required.
  • Valid drivers license and a good driving record.
Experience:
  • Two years experience assembling and installing office furniture or similar products preferred.
