Description

The Warehouse Lead is responsible for planning and managing the warehouse activities for receiving, shipping and delivery of all products. Ensures the quality and integrity of inventory management follows company policy. Maintains the warehouse facility in a clean, neat and safe manner and that vehicles are maintained in good condition and in compliance with regulatory agencies.

Job Functions:

  • Directs and/or completes the daily activities of shipping and receiving. May from time to time direct the workflow of others on a temporary basis.
  • Works with Sales Team and Operations Manager to schedule deliveries, service and installation.
  • Contacts customers to schedule delivery/installation of product.
  • Assist in the freight claim process for damages/overage/shortages. Forwards appropriate documentation to Operations Manager for claim processing.
  • Provide Return Goods Authorizations to vendors on a timely basis.
  • Assist Operations Manager in the assessment and direction of salvaged, damaged or unused parts including determination of what items are to be forwarded for liquidation or disposal.
  • Complies with safety policies and procedures throughout the distribution facility. Ensures all equipment is in clean and safe working condition.
  • Train new employees in all departmental procedures including completion of paperwork, notification policies, and use of equipment.
  • Maintain accurate files on vehicle use, condition and maintenance. Ensure that trucks are effectively utilized.
  • Work with Scheduling to maximize loads and manpower for daily and overtime jobs.
  • Provide on-call back up for nights, weekends, and holidays or as directed.
  • Print all receiving documents daily and file.
  • Print delivery tickets, update delivery status codes.
  • Maintain and monitor Demo pool and customer stock inventories.
  • Reconcile product pulled from location to delivery ticket.
  • Pre-build products in the warehouse including; Height Adjustable Desks, locks, glides, file rails, weight packages, etc.
  • Additional projects as required by the Operations Manager.
  • Assist crews on site as needed; delivery and installation
  • Review billing (delivery, installation, AST) from CSI for accuracy, apply cost codes and submit to Accounts Payable.

Qualifications:

Skills & Abilities:

  • PC Skills: Microsoft Windows including Word and Excel.
  • Knowledge of DOT requirements.
  • Clear and professional communication, both verbally and in writing.
  • Detail oriented and organized.
  • Works well in a multi-task organization.
  • Ability to lift and move loads of up to 50 lbs. unassisted
  • Ability to operate lift trucks and fork lifts.

Level of Education/Training/License:

  • High School Diploma
  • Advanced Education Desired

Experience:

  • Three to five years warehouse experience.
  • Previous experience in a distribution environment.
