Description
The Design Product Specialist/Auditor completes specification checks for all internal design assignments validating the accuracy of application, finishes, and quantities. Ensures complete and accurate plans and specifications per print and specification guidelines.
 
Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Complete specification checks for internal designers, contract designers, & sales.
  • Work directly with internal designers, contract designers, & sales to verify typicals and applications.
  • Check overall plans for correct applications per typical layouts.
  • Verify all quantities & finishes are correct on specifications in reference to overall plans.
  • Provide feedback regarding any application changes and quantity changes that need to be made once checks are completed.
  • Work with design and sales to provide value engineered solutions on RFPs, additional competitive opportunities, and to meet customer budgets.
  • Assist with field verifications, inventories, & as-builts as required
  • Facilitate the delivery & installation of new products & updates for all CT Showrooms
 
Qualifications:

Skills, Abilities & Knowledge:
  • Intermediate PC skills including Microsoft Windows, Excel and Word.
  • Solid interpersonal skills: ability to communicate (both oral and written) effectively and professionally with both internal and external customers.
  • Possess solid knowledge of best practices for furniture design.
  • Possess solid furniture product knowledge; able to learn and apply new product knowledge in a timely manner.
  • Has a working knowledge of applicable building codes, ADA regulations, National Electrical Code, etc.
  • Understands contract furniture process including order and project management, delivery and installation.
  • Excellent problem-solving ability and follow through.
  • Strong attention to detail and highly organized.
  • Works well under pressure in ambiguous conditions; excels at multi-tasking and prioritizing workflow.
 
Level of Education/Training/License:
  • BS/BA/BFA in technical training is preferred
  • Technical training in interior, architectural, industrial design or facilities management required.
 
Experience:
  • Must have previously held a dealer design, project management, or installation related position with a minimum of 5 years or direct related dealer experience.
  • Experience using CET software a plus.
