Description
The AV Service/ Install Technician is responsible for performing onsite and in-house technical support on AV Systems and components. They will also be responsible for the proper implementation and installation of audio/video equipment under the direction of their assigned Project Manager per the approved design. This position is based out of our East Hartford, CT office location.

Ideal Candidate will:
  • Provide on-site maintenance support to resolve reported issues with AV systems
  • Meet client expectations for support of VC and AV systems
  • Read schematic diagrams and design drawings
  • Complete all testing and documentation in a thorough and detailed manner
  • Document all system changes by marking up existing CADs and provide copies to the helpdesk and engineering for updating of electronic as-builts
  • Installation including but not limited to:
    • Ceiling/wall mounted speakers, displays and cameras
    • Cabling infrastructure
    • AV Racks
    • Wall plates and interfaces
    • Microphones (ceiling, table, wired, or wireless)
    • Display screens (wall mounted, ceiling recessed, Smartboards, rear-projection screens, etc.)
  • Terminations including but not limited to:
    • Audio connectors
    • Video connectors
    • Control Connectors
  • Provide coverage an average of one week per month of the 24x7 support pager for clients with 24x7 support
  • Provide completed forms to helpdesk for all service and preventative maintenance visits in a timely manner
  • Provide professional service and conduct
Skills and Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience working with AV systems with a t least 1 year of experience in a troubleshooting capacity
  • InfoComm CTS Certification highly desired
  • Must be familiar with Crestron, AMX, Extron, ClearOne, BiAmp, Polycom and Tandberg equipment
  • Must have experience using Crestron Toolbox for troubleshooting Crestron control systems
  • Comfortable using windows based operating systems and Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong attention to detail and troubleshooting processes
  • Must have soldering experience
  • Must be familiar with all AV cable and connector types
  • Physical Demands:
    • Ability to go up and down a ladder repeatedly
    • Ability to lift up to 60 lbs. unassisted
    • Ability to lift and install product overhead in the ceiling
    • Appropriate visual acuity to terminate cables
