Description

The AV Installer is responsible for the proper implementation and installation of audio/video equipment under the direction of their assigned Project Manager per the approved design. At times, they will be required to follow the directions of a Foreman, Senior Rack Builder, or the AV Field Integration Supervisor.

  1. Major Responsibilities:
  • Installation including but not limited to:
    • Ceiling/wall mounted speakers
    • Ceiling/wall mounted displays (LCD projectors, plasmas, TV’s, etc.)
    • Cabling infrastructure
    • AV Racks
    • Wall plates and interfaces (audio, video, or control)
    • Ceiling/wall mounted cameras
    • Microphones (ceiling, table, wired, or wireless)
    • Display screens (wall mounted, ceiling recessed, Smartboards, rear-projection screens, etc.)
  • Terminations including but not limited to:
    • Audio connectors
      • RCA’s, XLR’s, 1/4” TRS, 1/8” Stereo Minis, Phoenix type, RJ-45
    • Video connectors
      • BNC, F-Type, RCA, s-video, HD-15, RJ-45, Phoenix Type
    • Control Connectors
      • IR, Phoenix type, DB-9, DB-25, Mini DIN, RJ-11, RJ-45
  • Comply with Red Thread Systems design and/or consultant specifications.
    • Ability to read and understand CAD Diagrams
  • Completion of assigned tasks within timeframe allocated by their supervisor
  • Assistance with signal testing
  • Maintenance of a clean, neat, and safe worksite
  • Adherence to the established Departmental Methodologies and Policies and Procedures
  • Attend a variety of meetings as required or directed
  • Perform other similar duties as required or directed
  • Protect the confidentiality of information, including Client list and interactions within areas of own position responsibilities
  • Promote a continuous quality improvement effort to enhance the services provided to clients and other Red Thread staff by demonstrating positive attitudes and actions through a display of courtesy, congeniality, cooperation, initiatives, sensitivity, and professionalism
  1. Position Qualifications
  • A minimum of 1-year experience in the audio/visual field or a related field preferred
  • Ability and willingness to work overtime as required
  • Experience with Windows OS and the Microsoft Office Suite preferred
  • Physical Demands:
    • Ability to go up and down a ladder repeatedly
    • Ability to lift up to 60 lbs. unassisted
    • Ability to lift and install product overhead in the ceiling
    • Appropriate visual acuity to terminate cables
