We are seeking a dedicated, service-oriented professional to join our team as a Furniture Installer, Wilmington, MA.

Definition:        Reviews job plans/folders to insure job/project is completed within the customer’s expectations and deadlines. The lead installer is responsible for the quality and timeliness of the work performed on the job. The lead is required to effectively and efficiently manage all resources assigned to a job/project and is accountable for the success and outcome of his or her actions. A lead installer is responsible for providing informal and formal feedback of the performance of both internal and external manpower.
 
Job  Functions:
 
Supervises the delivery, staging, building of product, supervision of personnel, and completion of an installation.   Keeps detailed records regarding all activities of the job and communicates this information to customers, sales representatives, management and schedulers.
 
  • Reviews installation job folders to ensure all proper paperwork and information is provided and accurate. Looks for potential problems and ensure all necessary tools, parts and equipment are available.
     
  • Attends job meetings when requested and interact with various internal/external parties to achieve common goals and objectives.
     
  • Assist or complete, when necessary, pricing and quoting of jobs based on job folders provided to operations.
     
  • Completes daily time / job sheets including departure and arrival times and listboth internal and external manpower on the job.
     
  • Provides sales people, and schedulers daily progress reports via the telephone - voice mails are acceptable if user is unavailable.
     
  • Trains new Installers on product, installations, reconfigurations, policies and procedures. Assists management with development and conducting in house training.
     
  • Loads or assists in loading of product and equipment into assigned vehicle when necessary.
     
     
     
  • Provides formal feedback to management on the performance of both internal and externalmanpower. Participates in the performance appraisal process for employees.
     
  • Ensures compliance to all Red Thread safety policies and procedures by Red Thread team members and contractors. Always offers help when someone is moving or lifting something heavy.
     
  • Ensures company vehicle and equipment are tracked and in good condition, notifying
  • management of any concerns or problems. Responsible for maintaining a clean vehicle andconducting routine vehicle inspections in accordance with company policy.
     
  • May from time to time be assigned to other job tasks as needed such as performing service calls, assist in the scheduling function or other duties as needed.

    Skills and Abilities:
     
     
    Clear and professional communication skills, including written, verbal and listening skills, under stressful situations.

    Must be willing to supervise a group of individuals to achieve common goals and objectives.
     
    Possess established knowledge of all Red Thread distributed products and be willing to share knowledge and be an information resource to other employees. 
     
    Ability to prioritize in an ever changing, multi-task environment.
     
    Ability to read furniture plans and blueprints.
     
    Excellent customer service skills.
     
    Must be professional and businesslike at all times.
     
    Ability to lead and direct the work of others.
     
    Is detail-oriented with good administrative skills.
     
    Be a problem solver. Be able to demonstrate the ability to anticipate, recommend and implement solutions. Be prepared to have recommendations well thought out prior to communicating there is a problem/issue. Must be able to anticipate and quantify the financial implication of decisions and/or recommendations.
     
    Ability to complete paperwork accurately and clearly and in a timely manner.
     
    Ability to lift and move loads of up to 100 lbs.
     
    Ability to load and pack delivery truck.
     
    Ability to assemble various products, both Steelcase and Non Steelcase, utilizing necessary hand tools
     
     
     
    Level of Education/Training/License:
     
     High School Diploma / GED required.
     
    Valid driver’s license and clean driving record for a minimum of the prior 3 years.
     
     
    Experience:
     
    Three plus years assembling, installing, and dismantling of office furniture or similar products of which primary experience should include Steelcase or other major manufacturers.
     
     Three plus years experience directing the workflow of others.
