Summary
The Audiovisual department at Red Thread provides and installs custom audiovisual systems to corporate and higher education establishments. Each Red Thread project is custom and is accompanied by a comprehensive and unique drawing package. The Audiovisual CAD Designer will be responsible for developing project drawing packages including wiring diagrams, architectural markups, mounting details etc. using on Autodesk AutoCAD and Revit software. Prior experience with AutoCAD software with a focus on electrical drawings required. Knowledge of the construction industry and drafting best practices is a plus. Audiovisual industry experience is a plus but not a requirement.
 
 
Tasks
The following will be the day to day tasks of the CAD Designer, it is understood that in the beginning he/she may require extra guidance and training in order to be proficient.

• Create system wiring drawings in AutoCAD based on sketches provide by the system engineers and product documentation
• Add audiovisual components to architect’s provided floor plan and elevation backgrounds in Autodesk AutoCAD or Autodesk Revit software.
• Create installation related detail drawings based on product documentation and best practices
• Interface with other engineers to coordinate drafting methods and standards

 
 
Qualifications

• Two or Four-year college degree or equivalent experience
• 1-2 years of relevant experience is preferred, but we will also consider entry-level.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Detail oriented work approach and excellent follow up skills
• Proficiency in Autodesk AutoCAD
• Autodesk Revit experience preferred, training will be provided if lacking
• General familiarity of Microsoft Windows environment and popular applications
• General knowledge of commercial construction methods is a plus
• General knowledge of networking topology is a plus
