Red Thread, the premier provider of customized workplace environments, integrating office furnishings, interior architectural systems, floor covering, technology and audio-visual communication tools to create exceptional places for working, collaborating and learning, seeks a dedicated, customer service-oriented professional to join our team as a Floor Covering Estimator.

The Floor Covering Estimator is responsible for preparing and coordinating estimates and floor measuring for all projects.

            Responsibilities:

• Review and evaluate requests for estimates

• Visit job sites to conduct field measurements

• Contact and meet with corporate clients, designers, sales and manufacturer representatives to obtain the necessary information to complete estimates

• Prepares estimates for large and complex projects, using RFMS (or equivalent) software

• Attend scope review meetings with clients, architects and contractors

• Create and maintain project files and library of product and vendor resources

• Research and resolve discrepancies and issues that arise through the course of a project

• Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending company and vendor sponsored educational and product workshops

   

  Desired skills and experience:

• BA/BS degree preferred

• At least 5 years of commercial floor covering estimating experience

• Ability to read and interpret construction documents, blue prints and specifications

• Intermediate PC skills: Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel

• Proficiency with electronic estimating software, such as RFMS or equivalent

• Solid communication skills

• Creative problem-solving skills and exercise good judgment

• Must be organized and detail-oriented

• General knowledge of the floor covering industry
