Red Thread is New England’s premier Steelcase, Inc. dealership and provider of customized audio visual solutions, integrated office furnishings, interior architectural systems and floor coverings which create exceptional places for working, collaborating and learning.  We seek a dedicated AV System Design Engineer to work in our Wilmington, MA location. 
 
 
The primary job functions are as follows:

• Review product details for accuracy and completeness on receipt of order notification email and make required initial product changes for accurate product ordering.
• Participate in project kickoff meeting to transition a project over to the assigned Project Manager for the job.
• Provide required information to CAD engineer for initial creation of architectural and Flow diagrams.
• Review CAD packages created by CAD engineer for accuracy and make required changes to product required for providing desired functionality for the client, incorporating any changes that might have arisen since proposal creation stage.
• Attend required design/project meetings deemed necessary for the job as well as required departmental meetings.
• Assist infield technician or rack build personnel with required assistance during the project implementation.
• Assist with creation of required change orders internal or external, during the course of project implementation.
• Assist in closing out of AV installation in conjunction with Field Engineer and Project Manager.
• Research new products and technologies for use in innovative and efficient audiovisual designs.
• Provide leadership, mentoring and training to other junior employees within the engineering department.
• Protect confidentiality of information, including client list and company processes and procedures.
• Promotes a continuous quality improvement effort to enhance the services provided to clients and other Red Thread staff by demonstrating positive attitudes and actions through a display of courtesy, congeniality, cooperation, initiatives, sensitivity, and professionalism.

 
The qualified candidate should possess the following skills and experience:

• Minimum of 4 years experience in the audio-visual field in a design capacity role.
• ICIA accredited CTS certification, minimum (CTS-D Preferred).
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD software, version 2004 LT minimum.
• Strong math aptitude and logical analysis skills.
• Solid interpersonal skills that enhance a team environment.
• Ability to problem solve independently with a sense of urgency.
• Excellent PC Skills: Word, Excel and Adobe Acrobat.
• Communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing.
• Detail oriented and organized, with the ability to multi-task.
• Ability to multi-task, as well as effectively manage multiple projects.
• Ability to work within tight timeframes.
